Good heavens Spring was a busy season for us! Between school, spring sports, FRG fun and so on we went nonstop....Now after being two months into summer I would redo the pace of spring any day! Summer has had us spinning! I will be attempting a mass update of April and May.
So in April, Matty had a school production called "Bugs" and I got some really adorable pictures of him with his tiny antenna. Isn't that boy just a doll!
Matthew has had a SLIGHT growth spurt and there is a lovely story involving these flood worthy britches including, hiding on my part (for later donation) and climbing the mount Everest of closet shelving on his part (which ended in an awesome lesson in gravity at it's finest and dry wall patching from the shelf damage) and him sneaking out with these bad boys on. OHHHH ya, baby, high waters! This year the issue has been thwarted BEFORE the school year even starts.....pants long enough to grown into. Score one for Mom!
Then came Easter! Aw I love Easter! We are less religious and more....bunnies and candy than most but I do still have those spiritual moments during the season. I find those moments in nature mostly and one of the places we have recently (if you can count recently as April and it now being July..lol) discovered was Hodges Garden's, which are BEAUTIFUL! How do these treasures continue to hide from me? We've been here two years and we only found out about them this spring. Only 20 or so minutes from Fort Polk and just so pretty for a picnic, a walk, family photo's and so on. We got to have a blast with a picnic there with two fellow Army wives, Rachel and Allysha. Here are just a few pictures from that day. Highly recommend going!
The older kids and Rachel's son Alex.
Can we say giant Easter basket much? Ya, at this point in the walk the kids were a taddddd hot and tired out which explains the looks of sheer glee and gaiety oozing from their very pores, orrrrrr perhaps not so much. HA.
Just so you are aware, hiking up with a baby on you in 100+ degrees and 400 billion % humidity requires moxie my friends!
This was Aidan's 1st year getting to Easter egg hunt, so this year was a fun one for us! Seeing the excitement on his face was adorable, unfortunately my photographer (any of my older three I could finagled into pushing the button while pointing the camera in our general direction) missed the smiles..lol but still got some great shots!
Aidan and I at the Easter Egg hunt for the squadron. It was so fun! I sure do love our FRG!
Aidan was actually not afraid of the giant white bunny ( Soldier stuck in a faux fur jumper and be bunnied head who was just JUMPING with happiness at being voluntold to be the bunny this year). Michael once again, far to old and cool to get the pictures with the bunny. Sad day!
Cody however is the epitome of cool........?
Also in April Matty's school had and earth day picnic and I got to attend, it was so fun to see how excited your kids get just over having Mom there for lunch! LOVE it!
Then there is this picture, no story, just is awesome........Cheese it's bring the world together.
Lastly but not least for this post....Easter Morning and the through spoiling that these children enjoy from Oma, Nana & Grandaddy and Mom and Dad. Ya, these kids aren't loved.............at all. lol
Aidan and his new bunny from Oma which he start kissing and wouldn't put down for days.
All smiles for the camera while decorating Easter eggs on that side of the camera, on my side however I was still twitching from a run in with a pot of boiling Easter egg water and the beating it gave me on my stomach which was grotesquely burned and blistered (you shall not be subjected to that sexiness!)
Well, that's about it for Easter, phew....that was a long one!!!
